The definitions in bold are defined in Title 47, Section 1 of Oklahoma law.
BICYCLE
Every device propelled by human power upon which any person may ride, having two tandem wheels, either of which is more than twenty (20) inches in diameter.
BICYCLE FACILITIES
A general term denoting improvements and provisions made by public agencies to accommodate or encourage bicycling, including parking facilities and shared roadways not specifically designated for bicycle use.
BICYCLE LANE (BIKE LANE)
A portion of a roadway which has been designated by striping, signing and pavement markings for the preferential use of bicyclists.
BICYCLE PATH (BIKE PATH)
A bikeway physically separated from motorized vehicular traffic by an open space or barrier and either within the highway right-of-way or within an independent right-of-way.
BICYCLE ROUTE (BIKE ROUTE)
A segment of a system of bikeways designated by the jurisdiction having authority with appropriate directional and informational markers, with or without a specific bicycle route number.
BIKEWAY
Any road, path or way that in some manner is specifically designated as being open to bicycle travel, regardless of whether such facilities are designated for the preferential use of bicycles or are to be shared with other transportation modes.
HIGHWAY
The entire width between boundaries of a public way where any part is maintained for use by the public for vehicular travel.
MOTOR VEHICLE
Every vehicle which is self-propelled and every vehicle which is propelled by electric power obtained from overhead trolley wires, but not operated upon rails.
ROADWAY
The portion of a highway ordinarily used for vehicular travel, not including sidewalks or shoulders.
